The challenges

Why fit a GPS tracker
to a logistics fleet?

Without visibility over your assets, every step of the logistics chain is a source of losses, delays and unnecessary cost.

Challenge 01

Where are my trailers and containers?

Your crates, trailers and containers are scattered across customers, subcontractors and partners. Impossible to locate without a dedicated GPS tracker.

Challenge 02

When and how often are they used?

Without activity data, you cannot optimise the fleet, calculate real mileage for maintenance or bill deposits and rentals accurately.

Challenge 03

Theft and diversion of assets

Assets stored illegally by hauliers, diverted or held back by customers — without GPS, these losses are invisible and costly.

Challenge 04

Were transport conditions respected?

Temperature, humidity, fill level — without condition monitoring, it is hard to guarantee regulatory compliance and service quality.

Step 1

Full visibility
over your logistics fleet

Know at any moment where all your trailers, pallets and containers are — in which warehouse, at which customer, with which subcontractor.

Real-time positioning of the whole fleet

A unified map, filterable by site, flow, asset type or status. Spot unused or forgotten assets at a glance.

Automatic inventories per site

Define a geofence for each warehouse or distribution centre. The platform counts every asset present — in real time and with no manual entry.

Planning collections and deliveries

Know when assets are ready to be collected, anticipate fleet needs and optimise collection rounds.

Step 2

A digital
logistics logbook

Replace Excel files and paper logs with automatic, filterable and exportable traceability of every logistics asset.

Full history per asset

Movements, presence, flows and allocations — the whole history is available from the platform or your ERP.

Filters and allocation by flow

Tag each asset with its characteristics (flow A, flow B, customer X…) to separate circuits and automatically allocate the right assets to the right flows.

ERP/TMS/WMS integration

Enrich your systems with real-time positioning data. Eliminate double entry and create a single source of truth for your supply chain.

Step 3

Compliance with
transport conditions

Measure the temperature, humidity and fill level of your assets. Ensure regulatory compliance and that subcontractor SLAs are met.

Temperature & humidity monitoring

Compatible external BLE sensors for real-time condition monitoring. Configurable alerts if a threshold is exceeded.

Subcontractor compliance checks

Track whether your subcontractors respect deadlines, routes and storage conditions — objective data for contract management.

Proactive quality alerts

Spot quality problems before they reach the customer. Fewer disputes and better customer satisfaction.

Continuous positioning of the crates

From deployment, the trackers made it possible to identify each crate's latest activity (departure, movement, stop) and to determine the exact position of every resource. The logistics manager has a daily overall view of movements.

Automatic inventories per site and per flow

Using geofences, each warehouse was marked on the platform. The crates present at each site are located and counted automatically. The "flow A" and "flow B" characteristics allocate crates to the right distribution circuits.

Allocation anomaly alerts

When a "flow A" crate ends up in Reception Centre B, an alert is sent to the logistics manager so the anomaly can be corrected quickly. No allocation error goes undetected.

Fewer retentions over 72 hours

The "too long in zone" alert notifies the manager as soon as a crate stays more than 72 hours in a distribution centre. The result: better delivery performance, faster rotations, stronger customer satisfaction.

Frequently asked questions

Everything about GPS trackers
for logistics

What is a GPS tracker for logistics? +

A logistics GPS tracker is a battery-powered IoT device fitted to the mobile assets of the supply chain: trailers, semi-trailers, pallets, containers, returnable crates, roll cages and packaging equipment. It combines GPS (outdoors), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (indoors) to locate assets in real time, whether in a warehouse, on the road or at a customer site. It communicates over the NB-IoT network with no SIM card and runs for 5 to 10 years with no recharging thanks to its long-life battery. The associated platform provides automatic inventories, retention alerts and ERP/TMS/WMS integration.

How much does a GPS tracker for logistics cost? +

A TRAKmy logistics GPS tracker costs between €99 and €250 excl. VAT per unit, depending on the model and the quantity. COMPACT from €99 for crates and small packaging, ULTRA N+ at €200 for trailers, containers and heavy-duty outdoor equipment. The single annual subscription of €69.90 per tracker includes international SIM-free NB-IoT connectivity, the web platform, the mobile app, customisable alerts, ERP/TMS/WMS APIs and technical support. Volume pricing from 100 units. Personalised quote within 24 hours.

How do you track a trailer or container with a GPS tracker? +

Installing a GPS tracker on a trailer or container takes less than a minute: fixing with high-power magnets, 3M VHB™ industrial adhesive or screws, depending on the surface. No electrical wiring is needed because the tracker runs on its own battery for 5 to 10 years. Once fitted, the tracker sends its position several times a day over the NB-IoT network (adaptive frequency: more often when moving, less when stationary). You see the trailer or container on the TRAKmy platform, filter by flow or customer, and receive alerts if it is held abnormally long (for example more than 72 hours at a consignee).

How do automatic inventories work for a logistics fleet? +

Automatic inventories are built on geofences. On the TRAKmy platform you define a geographic zone for each warehouse, distribution centre, dock or customer site. As soon as an equipped asset enters a zone, it is automatically counted in that site's inventory. You get the exact number of trailers, pallets or containers present at each site in real time, with their entry and exit history. No more Excel files, phone calls or manual entry — 200 hours a year saved on average across our logistics customers.

Can the logistics GPS tracker be integrated with an ERP, TMS or WMS? +

Yes. TRAKmy has a bidirectional REST API (Pull + Push) and MQTT support for real-time integrations. All the data — GPS positions, inventories by geofence, retention alerts, movement history, sensor data — feeds automatically into your system. Compatible with SAP, Oracle, Sage, Reflex, Hardis, Generix, Manhattan and any ERP/TMS/WMS with an API. Our technical team supports the integration and provides developer documentation. This service is included in the Professional and Analytics plans.

Does the logistics GPS tracker work internationally and in dead zones? +

Yes. The NB-IoT network used by TRAKmy covers 74+ countries, including the whole of Europe (France, Benelux, Germany, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom and others) and much of the world. No SIM card to manage, no roaming to activate. In areas with no coverage (tunnels, shielded warehouses, basements), the tracker stores its positions locally for up to 60 days and retransmits them automatically as soon as it regains a connection. No data is lost, even on long-distance routes crossing difficult areas. Ideal for cross-border flows and international supply chains.
