What we trace
Which stock and flows can be
traced in the luxury supply chain?
The tracker is fitted to the returnable container or batch (shuttle crate, tote, rack, bin) and not to the finished product. The TRAKmy platform therefore follows valuable materials throughout their movement between the sites of the supply chain, from the tannery to the final workshop.
The challenges
Why trace stock and flows
in leather goods and luxury?
Luxury supply chain materials (leathers, metals, components) concentrate high value in small volumes and move between many sites. According to a European Parliament study relayed by TAPA EMEA (2024), freight crime costs European businesses more than €8.2 billion a year , and thefts targeting luxury goods and cosmetics jumped by +42% between 2023 and 2024 (2025 data).
Where are my batches between subcontractors?
Materials and semi-finished goods move between tanneries, subcontractors and workshops. Without tracking, there is no way to know in real time which batch is at which subcontractor, or for how long.
Diversion & theft of valuable materials
A single crate of exotic leathers can be worth tens of thousands of euros. TheEUIPO (2024 study) notes that France and Italy are among the countries most affected by counterfeiting, often fed by leaks of genuine materials.
Storage conditions for hides
Leathers and hides are sensitive to temperature and humidity. A prolonged deviation can damage an irreplaceable raw material: without a sensor, the incident is discovered too late.
Demanding traceability & compliance
Provenance of exotic leathers (CITES), sustainability reporting (CSRD), proof of chain of custody: the luxury supply chain has to document the journey of its materials in a verifiable, time-stamped way.

How do you trace material flows
in leather goods?
The solution combines three building blocks: a standalone tracker on the container, the low-power NB-IoT network (GSMA) which covers more than 74 countries, and a cloud platform that turns positions into inventories and alerts.
Equip your containers & batches
A standalone tracker fixed to each shuttle crate, tote or returnable rack. No wiring, no SIM card, even on containers with no power supply.
A digital logbook of your flows
Replace spreadsheets and calls between sites with automatic monitoring: where each batch is, at which subcontractor, for how long, and in what conditions.
Integrate with your systems & document
Connect the platform to your ERP, PLM or WMS. Enrich your production files with the real location of materials and generate proof of traceability.
Step 1
Full visibility
of your flows and stock
Know at any moment where each batch of material is, on which site of the chain, for how long, and whether it has left an authorised perimeter.
A single map of the supply chain
Every container and batch on one map, filterable by site, material type or status. Last position and time spent at each subcontractor.
Automatic inventory per site
One geofence per workshop, tannery or warehouse: the platform automatically lists the materials present and builds the inventory in real time.
Anti-diversion alerts
Immediate notification if a batch leaves its zone outside the agreed window, or if a journey diverges from the expected route between two sites.
Step 2
Storage conditions
& security of materials
Beyond position, monitor the environment and the integrity of your sensitive materials with Bluetooth sensors paired to the tracker.
Temperature & humidity (HT 4050 sensor)
Continuous recording of storage conditions for hides and leathers. An alert as soon as a threshold is crossed, to protect irreplaceable raw materials.
Opening & tamper detection
The M 4201 contact sensor and the tamper function of the ULTRA N+ tracker report any opening of a crate or unauthorised removal attempt.
Indoor positioning in workshops & stores
GEOBEACON and ZA 3510 BLE anchors define indoor zones to locate bins and batches where GPS does not reach.
Step 3
System integration
& proof of traceability
The TRAKmy platform integrates with your ERP, PLM or WMS to enrich your production files with no double entry, and to produce verifiable proof of the journey. The implementation follows the GDPR framework on geolocation.
An open API for ERP, PLM and WMS
Feed positions and inventories straight into your information system. No more calls between sites to locate a batch or confirm a delivery.
Proof of chain of custody
A time-stamped, verifiable history of each material's journey, usable for the provenance of exotic leathers (CITES) and for CSRD reporting.
A mobile app in the field
Goods receipt, quality control and close-range location straight from your teams' smartphones, on iOS and Android.

Use cases
TRAKmy traceability
at every link of the chain
Typical configurations for each link of the luxury chain. The NB-IoT network covers France and Italy, the two major hubs of the industry, whereas the LTE-M or Sigfox coverage of consumer solutions such as Invoxia varies between operators and countries.
Track hide batches and their storage conditions
Crates and racks of hides fitted with a COMPACT paired with an HT 4050 sensor. Automatic inventory per drying and storage zone, with an alert if humidity drifts on high-value materials.
Control flows between workshops in France and Italy
Shuttle totes fitted with ULTRA N+ trackers to follow the round trips between the maison, its subcontractors and its suppliers. Automatic detection of site arrivals and an alert if a batch stays too long or leaves the expected route.
Secure transport & the warehouse
Shuttle vehicles fitted with REACT trackers to follow journeys, and a warehouse covered by GEOBEACON BLE anchors for indoor positioning. TAG 2001 beacons on bins of valuable parts for close-range inventory.
Frequently asked questions
Luxury traceability:
your questions, our answers
Should you put a GPS tracker inside finished luxury bags and products? +
No. The TRAKmy solution for luxury is not about fitting trackers to bags or finished products. It is B2B traceability of stock and flows: following the shuttle crates, totes, hide batches, components and valuable supplies that move between tanneries, subcontractors, workshops and logistics platforms. The tracker goes on the returnable container or batch, not on the item sold to the end customer.
How do you follow material flows between subcontractors and workshops, particularly between France and Italy? +
Each shuttle crate, tote or batch of materials is fitted with a standalone tracker. The TRAKmy platform shows its position in near real time and automatically detects when it enters a geofence (workshop, subcontractor, warehouse). The NB-IoT network is deployed in more than 74 countries, including France and Italy, the two major hubs of the luxury industry, which secures cross-border flows where LTE-M or Sigfox coverage varies from one operator and one country to another.
Can you monitor the storage conditions of hides and leathers? +
Yes. By pairing an ULTRA N+ or COMPACT tracker with an HT 4050 BLE temperature and humidity sensor, the platform continuously records the temperature and humidity of storage areas for hides and sensitive materials. Alerts are triggered if thresholds are exceeded, protecting raw materials whose value can reach several thousand euros per square metre for exotic leathers.
How much does a traceability solution for leather goods and luxury cost? +
The price depends on the number of assets to equip, the models chosen and the platform plan. TRAKmy offers several ranges: the COMPACT 1115 for crates and packaging, the ULTRA N+ 1101 for high-end monitoring with built-in sensors, and the REACT 1215 for vehicles. An annual subscription includes NB-IoT connectivity, the platform, alerts and support. A personalised quote is provided within 24 business hours, based on the size of your fleet.
Is the solution GDPR compliant and suited to the sector's traceability requirements? +
Yes. Tracking professional assets and containers is governed by the GDPR. TRAKmy provides the compliance elements: a documented legitimate purpose, a configurable retention period, and prior information of employees where vehicles are involved. Time-stamped traceability of batches also supports provenance obligations (exotic leathers under CITES) and sustainability reporting (CSRD).
Can stock be located inside a workshop or a warehouse? +
Yes. GPS alone is not enough indoors. TRAKmy adds GEOBEACON or ZA 3510 Bluetooth anchors that define indoor zones (store, workshop, dock). Trackers and TAG 2001 BLE beacons fixed to batches or bins are then located by zone, which allows an automatic inventory inside buildings, with no manual barcode scanning.
Can the data be integrated into our ERP, PLM or WMS? +
Yes. TRAKmy provides a two-way REST API that connects to the ERP, PLM and WMS systems used in luxury and manufacturing. Positions, automatic inventories per site and alerts feed straight into your information system, with no double entry. The iOS and Android mobile app gives direct access to field teams and quality controllers. For advanced analysis needs, see our Analytics platform.
